I AM SO OLD THAT I REMEMBER WHEN SEARCH ENGINES REALLY WORKED!

No matter how specific I am in my searches always come up with items totally unrelated.
Looked on ebay today for "pump motor start switch" came up with auto starters and wanting to know what vehicle! ???
Also checked "water pump motor start switch" , same thing.
It seems to be on most online stores.
On Lowe's I was looking for "laminate flooring" it comes up with flooring and also patio furniture.
I guess the basement dwelling programmers don't know the difference!

With the exception of Amazon, website specific searches engines are generally worthless. The best Internet wide search engine is Google but unfortunately they collect and retain all of your information for their partner NSA. I use DuckDuckGo since they don't retain anything and their results are good enough.

Search engines also look at your search history. My wife and I will put in the exact same search criteria... and come up with different results.
