There are two pins that hold the triple hole top link on. One solid pin at the spring and another connected to the rear center housing. most of the time PB Blaster and pound them out. The hollow center pin I'll usually use a similar size socket or pipe the same size. It was hollow so the long pin could run thru it. Might require some heat. Carefully swing the hammer so you don't bust the ear on the housing. It looks ok from the photo, not sure why you need to take it off? The bracket below it is for a sickle bar mower. If you don't need it you can sell it. There would be no reason to reinstall it.

Thank you, I already tried pounding it, but nothing moved so I thought id better ask :)

the triple hole toplink has a busted ear and I want to replace it, its only holding on 1 ear so it wobbles around and I think if I attach something to the 3point it could fully break and do more damage to other things

Yesterday, I ordered an exhaust manifold for the 8n from our local TSC (They did not have any on the shelf, no big deal for me because the doc wont let me turn a wrench yet anyhow). That part, common to all the "N" models, 9, 2, and 8, has gone up in cost a good bit at TSC over the last several years: 85 $ for the part, 15 $, for shipping, 8 $ for tax, for a grand total of 108 $. I think I only paid around 70 $ when I bought the last one at "Central Tractor" around 24 years ago, and they had it on the shelf. I am sure I could have found one cheaper on the net, but I like to support our neighborhood store. Besides, they are getting bably chics and ducks in now. My kid's will get a kick out of that, when I pick up the part in a few days.

Any of you guys know the trick to replacing the shifter boot on an 8N so that not "quite" as much water gets in the rear?

sure, get the correct boot first.

I roll mine inside out at the lower lip some, lube a bit and then slide down the shaft and roll over the base to right side out.
