I bought a Cummins A1700 parts book

I bought a "Genuine Cummins" A1700 engine parts book.

AMAZINGLY, even though this is a USA Cummins book, the "Fuel Injection Pump Assembly" listed in the book clearly states it is made by Doowon Industries.

Both the oil and the fuel filters reference a Fleetguard part number.

I'm really tempted to go to my local Cummins house and order an oil dipstick to see if the markings make any more sense than the one that came with the tractor!

I agree about the dip stick. My 4720 has 6 marks, and quite a volume range (many quarts of oil) between the top mark and bottom mark. There is no maximum and minimum indication on the marks. The manual obviously refers to a different style dipstick when telling you how to read it. Not a very intuitive design.
