Today, for no particular reason, I bought an older Ford F-350 Crew Cab dually. It has a diesel engine with an aftermarket turbocharger by ATI and a shift kit. It's not pretty but it's a blast to drive. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Not quite as much of a blast to park. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

One thing I noticed right away is that it doesn't accelerate or drive like a diesel at all. It also has a great sound when you push down on the accelerator, too. Between that and the conversion (like custom vans) with all the lights and fancy interior including the rear seat that folds out tot a bed, it's every high school farm boy's dream. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

There's nowhere to go with this story. It's just a new toy I probably won't keep but it was sure fun today running around in that thing.

When you say "older" how old do you mean? I've got a 97 F250 crew cab that I love but sure do wish it were diesel /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

ya got any pictures of that? i had always thought of doing that to my 84 F350 crew cab back when i was in highschool, probably a good thing i didnt tho, the fullsize backseat in that truck was enough trouble as it is lol, of course now that i have a steady gf and the fun of getting different girls all the time is over the backseat is mostly full of tiedown straps, smvs and stuff like that

My apologies for not being more specific. It's a 1989 model with 134,000 miles. It's not the prettiest thing on the road but it runs great and has incredible power and acceleration not to mention those pipes that just sound cool. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Sounds like just what I need to pull my dump trailer, rated at 12,000 lbs. I know you drive to Florida every once in a while; if and when you decide to get rid of the Ford, let's at least talk.

Rob, I'll try to remember to take a picture or two of it tomorrow and post them here.

Don, I've only driven to FL once in my life but I'll certainly send you a PM when 'playtime' is over here. I'd guess it'll take another week. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
