Yanmar 1500
Went to Fredrick's in Hartselle, AL, today and bought a 1500 with tiller, box blade, 4 suitcase weights, and rotary cutter. Also included overunning clutch and manual. Total was $3750. Supposed to be delivered Friday morning.

I was able to meet the mechanic, Brent, who will be building my tractor. He showed me a checklist with at least 50 items they check. They replace all the fluids and filters, check engine and chassis, etc. Really, they do more than I thought they would. The seat and battery are replaced and the tractor is usually painted unless the original paint is really good.

I had the opportunity to try one out that they were building for another customer. I drove it up and down a hill, and I believe it will do fine where I live.

Thanks for all the advice I received from this board. I know I'll probably need more in the future.

Randy

They also answered all my questions. So far, I can strongly recommend Fredrick's in Harselle.

Congratulations! I've heard nothing but good about the 1500 and about Fredrick's. You will be surprised what you can do with 15 pto hp. Good luck.

Randy, I bought a 2420D from Fredricks 4 years ago and have been nothing but pleased with both the tractor and the folks. Tom and his crew have always been very easy to deal with, knowledgeable, and professional. The tractor has given me great service, I've put almost 400 hours on it and the few troubles I've had were operator induced /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Congratulation on becoming a Yanmar owner. I hope you enjoy your's as much as I have mine.

Good deal Randy sure you will not be dissapointed in them. Going on 4 years with my 1500 from them dug out a 25 by 40' area in the pond last year when the water was low about 3 ft deep with a 24" rear dirt scoop. You might want to look into one of those. Comes in real handy so does a middle buster..

Yeah, I know I'll need other equipment. What about a boom pole? Is this used to pick stuff up with? I've got lots of big rocks that need moving. I thought this might be good for that.

I borrowed my neighbors to move a bunch of firewood and some rocks from other neighbors. I was surprised how much I could lift with it. I have 160 pounds on the front and there was only 1 rock that we had to use the big MF to move course it was over 400 pounds plus!
