I can\'t download an attachment

Hey Guys,
I tried without luck to send an attatchment with my post and it failed twice. I have dial up but I don't think that should matter.
I think my picture was too large. How do you get the Byte count smaller on a picture?
I got some kind of 789 error message saying that tractorb/discussion/garden/attach/file does not exist, or something like that.
How can I fix this problem?

You could always download PIX resizer , it's a free download and it works for me. Check the size before you try to upload it. It has to be under 100kb.

Thanks for the link. That looks like some good software. I don't have a way to unzip it though. I am likely to trash this computer in the near future so I may invest in winzip or something compatable when I get a new computer.
I am using Photo Editor now. I can resize to 100000 bytes but then I can't see the image. Very small.
The pics I was trying to send were way to large. That's probably why it did not work.

Try .jpg instead of .bmp

Thanks for the offer. I will send you an e-mail. I havn't had any problems there so I should be able to send them. We'll see.

I am pretty sure they were in jpeg format. The lettering under the icon was Img_0125.jpeg
If I sent them by browsing and inserting into the add attatchment would it change? Is this even jpeg format? I don't know? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Needless to say, I am not the most computer literate person out there.

That's the way I do it. Of course, before I start, I right click on the image, then click on "properties" to see what size the file is, and if necessary (nearly always is), I re-size it to get it under 100k.

O.K. I found the image quality adjustments and reformatted. I went to properties like bird said (Thanks Bird!) and this should work because it's between 92k and 93k. Hopefully you will see my tractor.
