Why not replace the zerk fittings. Also ; wow thick is the housing on the axle? I have seen where the zerk fitting actually is so close to the component that it will not accept grease unless you grind off a little material from the zerk fittting threads.

go to NAPA and buy another zerk adapter for the grease gun. The extremely close tolerances of the adapter and a little bit of dirt will cause them to be difficult to put on or take off. The better ones can be taken apart and cleaned or adjusted. but for me it is easier to buy a new one.

The grease gun tip I use is adjustable, it helps, but there are still times when it gets stuck.

The front end is very tight and does not rock back and forth very easily. Since there is presently grease in the joints and it does not appear to be exiting anyplace I can detect, I am going to just ignore this until the next time I do a lubrication.

Since it is so tight, I would take the front pivot apart and clean it out.
I have not taken my CK's pivot apart, but it looks way easier than the
JD I had to fix. The JD's pivot was not getting grease and it rusted
and wore out. A PITA to fix.

I had the same problem. HAD...It just seems to have all of a sudden began to accept the grease. On the loader zerks, I blow the dirt off with air (stand aside when you do this or you will not be allowed in the house without an inspection) and my air gun from Harbor Freight works fine. cheers

AH! Ease is in the eye of the beholder. I can "easily" :p see where I could get myself into serious trouble engaging in this kind of activity. It is a notch above my skill and ambition level. I did consider loosening bolt #5 in the diagram to see if that would help the grease to ooze out of the assembly, but I can imagine that additional slack would allow too much movement and excessive wear on those parts as well. Catch22. I am done for the season so I will attempt again in the spring to see if the grease will flow through if one of the fittings is removed. If anyone is still at it perhaps they could give it a try and see if that works. :) Thanks.
