A skid steer does things either a tractor won't and/or it's more compact. I looked at this one for sale...what do you think?
The owner bought it new 2005, 756 hours on it. Front hydraulics. Everything works perfectly. He said they never washed it and I believe it. Garage kept. It was serviced at 500 hours but needs service again. The Kubota engine is dusty but no leaks anywhere of any fluids. Started great, no smoke. (46 hp) Pre-emissions. Hydraulic cylinders are clean, no pitting, leaks. It has a 6ft bucket. New (but dirty) tires. Nice cab/wiper/heat air
I don't have a trailer to tow it. I think I'd say if he would take it 3 miles to dealer for service (I'll pay for that), then 40 miles to me (owner lives not far past me) then I'd pay $25,000.
Does that sound fair & good price?
I just got 18T sand, horse paddock to maintain, 18T screened topsoil lawn & garden, areas to level. Friend/neighbor has one I can borrow attachments.
Thanks.

That is a nice looking machine. Low hours. One owner. All good points.
I have an older 773. Your model has improved visibility with lower lift arms but I would put a couple of backup cameras on it right away to make it livable.

We have one just like it. You can save money and do that service yourself. Be careful raising the back to get to radiator. Look at how the hydraulic cooler sets in there. Very good machine. You'll like it. Grease the tension pulley on the belt drive. Drive chains on each side run in oil.

Most of the skidsteers I see for sale around me in Middle Tennessee have way more hours, look rougher, and the prices aren't cheaper. A 1996 Mustang skid steer with over 5,000 hours sold for $5-$6,000 at the last equipment auction near me.

I would not wait. Tractor house shows one with 798 hrs at dealer for $38,900. Buy it now and you will have something you can get your money back if you don't like it.

I think you can get your money back on any skid steer.

Agree with others that is great find Low hours , single owner

We have the T 250 in the family 81HP Kubota with over 5000 hours. Tracks worn out and replaced

Other than that rock solid other than lending it to a friend and using the grapple he managed to rip the Hydraulic connector lines out "Twice" .

Did you buy this? How's it working out?
No I didn't buy it. It was a good deal but two things I didn't like: it was used to load/unload pallets of salt and many times salt left on it. Salt is very corrosive and the the forks & attachment and bucket really cruddy looking.
Other thing was the engine oil very dark and owner couldn't find the service records.
Then I spoke with my local Deere dealer I bought my tractor new from. He would give me what I thought was fair trade in on a new tractor, so I may go with a new 4 series...even thinking about 4075R.
Like my wife said the Bobcat yet another thing to maintenance. My tractor on trade plus that $25K makes more sense.

I bought a 775 Bobcat SS from a friend of mine with 3k hours on it for $10k with smooth bucket and forks. New tires recent full service and fluids.
That was 4 yrs ago. I've put maybe 150 hours on it doing things the tractor could not do or maybe could. This year I put a 6ft Brush hog on it and man can it can cut some weeds. Still beats me up compared to tractor riding... it's just so short and zero suspension. But hey - Its a very handy tool, works good. And all the attachments are Kubota QA compatible.

I'd love having one. The contractor who built horse stable a few years ago had a Cat skid steer I could use as long as I put fuel in it.
They are fantastic, but a well equipped tractor will do everything I need it to, especially with 30 attachments. I don't have 30 yet but working on it .
Back in the 70s my brother traveled the world. He was talking to a holy man in Tibet about me, how I collect cars...the Tibetian monk said "he who owns cows tends cattle".
Which is very true. The more you have the more you tend.

Actually I tend my property and the machines that do the maintenance work... and house and the lawn and the garden associated with living here.
It's the dream so I tend to it.(y)
