All I can say is watch out for the Hornets nests!
I was running the bush hog and the ROPS hit a brach that contained a very LARGE hornets nest that I obviously did not see. As they erupted out of thier nest...the air assault was on. By the time I realized what happened, I had already been stung 5-6 times. So instinct was to jump off and run..so thats what I did. However that is when the real problem began. Since my TC is hydro, I knew it would stop as soon as I let off the pedal so I was'nt concerned with the tractor running away. But when I hit the ground running, I felt a "pop" in my right leg and fell to the ground. Fortunately the hornets stayed and molested the tractor for a while and left me alone. Unfortunately, I tore my achilles tendon (which is the tendon that connects calf muscle to back of heel) and go for surgery next week and will be off work for 8 weeks!
I guess this would be a good time for my step-son and wife to learn some tractoring, as things still need to be done.
So FYI, be careful out there!
