Finally got off the wishing bucket and decided to get a used Massey. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Bought a '96 model 1230 hydro w/loader and 5' bush hog * tiller. She only has 530 hours on it, which I thought was low for a 10 year old. That's roughly 50 hrs a year. Soft time in my opinion. I'm having it delivered this Saturday. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif The only thing I'm not sure I'll like is the tires. It has turfs on now and I would prefer the industrials. My place is nothing but mud now and I'm concerned about the traction when I'm using the loader or a box blade.
Does anyone know off hand what the tire sizes are for the 1230? Want to look into replacements.

I'll post a pic when she gets here.

Steve

Congratulations on the new tractor. I am sure that you will enjoy it.
I have an appointment that I have to go to right now or I would look up the tires for you. I think that I have that information. If no one does by tonight, I will try to find it for you.
BTW, I don’t think that I welcomed you to here.
Welcome to TBN.

Hi Steve ,
Congrats on your new machine and TBN. That sounds like you have a nice machine. When I got my used MF 1040 in Jan of 2004 it had 1340 hrs on it. So it was being used an average of about 65 hrs per year. I have only put about 100 hrs on it since I got it and I feel that I use it quite frequently especially in the good weather /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Here is a link to your tractor, this is a great link I got from Birdhunter. MF 1230

I thought that I had the spec. for all of the 1200 series, but it looks like I don't have the tires for the smaller ones. The owner’s manual that I have for the larger compacts (1240, 1250 & 1260) doesn't show industrial tires. I know that they were offered the last year or two of production anyway. Maybe someone else will post the sizes.

MF 1230 hydro:
Turf tire sizes were: front = 24 x 8.50 -12
rear = 315 x 80D - 16

I'm not familiar with any Industrial tires that come on a 16" rim which is what your rear tires are. I know of R4 Ind. tires for 16.5" and 17.5" rims. Kubota B7800 may use 16" rim with Industrial tire though...not sure. I do know you can get 12.4 x 16" AG tires that are wide and look good on MF1230. In fact, the 12.4 x 16 AG was optional tire made for MF1230. Hope this helps.

Congratulations! I just got mine a week ago. I haven't been able to play any. I've gotten on it a couple of times to get familiar with the controls. Post some pics!

Thanks guys for the info! As I said earlier, she is due in this Saturday and you can bet I'll be like a kid on Christmas eve! Glued to the window hoping to see the great "red sled" /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Does anybody know how big of tires/rims could be installed without interferring with the FEL or other attachments?

Thanks again,
Steve
