We have just took in trade a real nice 135 MF with no 2 stage clutch. It reminds me of the MF 35 "Specials" that preceeded the production of the 135's. I have been selling new and used farm tractors for a long time and this is the first 135 that I have came across configured like this. Has anyone else ever ran across a 135 MF that was made this way /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif--Ken Sweet

No, but one stage isn't just 'stuck' together? I am confident you know that isn't true, but I did run into that once where the tractor 'acted' like it didn't have a second stage to kick out the drive line to the PTO, as it was stuck tight together.

We have checked that out and it is not stuck.--Ken Sweet

Hi Ken,
Some real nice property you have down there on your web page! Thanks for sharing that! Beautiful country!

There were 135's made with a live PTO like you would have on a TO or 8N, in fact, the clutch used on a 135 single clutch is the same as a TO35.

I bet that is correct. Chuck, I wonder how many of these were made in this configuration. In 30 years of selling tractors, this is the only one that I have ran up on?--Ken Sweet

Yes Sir Ken,
I was looking at that 30.7 acre parcel with the pond. Just real pretty country, nice rolling hills and a pond too. I know through a friend that the realestate prices and taxes are very reasonable down there and that just caught my eye. Have a good day and nice meeting you!

Yes, they were used, I have seen them, but there are not to many, I think it may have been a run of tractors for special pricing, like the 240S etc. The clutch cover is the same part number for the TO20, TO30, TO35, MF35, and the MF135 single clutch, The disc is different for the 35's and 135's, it has a 1 1/2 x10 spline hole.

That is what I was thinking or maybe a few customers wanted a economy version and special ordered this configuration. About 10 years ago, I bought a 1973, 2000 Ford gas tractor from a older retired farmer that ordered it with No PS, Metal pan seat and no live PTO. I asked him why he did that and he replied "To Save Money". I am sure he did save upfront, however, he lost $1000 when I made the purchase--Ken Sweet
