Several, all used and abused.
My land was part of a WWII army base, it's been a watermelon farm, a rose farm and now it's a pine tree farm.

While exploring yesterday I found a REX abandonded in the trees. The pines were planted in 1998, and it's behind them.

It has a GM Diesel engine with a drive line that goes to what appears to be a large rototiller. There are two tires, one on each side in the middle and a tow bar in front. The operator station is behing the engine and has plenty of guages and levers with a large tank behind his position. No seat.

The front has guages also and only visible to the tow vehicle. I'd guess a dozer.

Paint is in pretty good shape, a nice shade of yellow.

Does anybody have any idea what this is?

Thanks,
Eddie

Sound like a jewel!

YOu need to rebuild it and hook it behind a CUT and you'd have quiet a unit there!

Good Luck,

Ron

Kinda sounds like a pulvimixer/soil stablizer/road reclaimer to me. Resemble one of these ?

It looks kind of like that, but no front tires and the rear tires are the size of the front ones.

I have digital pictures of it in the trees, how do you load them onto the forum?

Rex was a big maker of landfill compactors. The used a tricycle design. Steel wheels with teeth. Detroit Diesel for power. Loud Loud Loud.

This picture shows it from the right rear angle. The brush is kind of thick, but you can see the cover over the tiller, the hydrolic oil tank and part of one of the tires.

This is a close up of the tiller. I will get more pictures during the week when I can get in and clean up the brush some. I also need to address the yellow jackets that call it home.

Kinda looks like a towed version of the tractor on the link I posted. Like you thought, it's a rototiller on some serious steroids. They are used for things like mixing lime or cement into soil to make it compact better, or tilling up thin layers of old pavement. Most of these things lead a pretty hard life.
