Well, I splurged and bought the starter mower out of the Commercial grade "Tanks" (M50-KHS). I had them get me one out of the crate not the ones they have on their lot that are already rusted and corroded. I mowed with it and well, I felt like I was in Mower Heaven! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif It has plenty of power. I had not mowed my yard for 3 weeks and the grass was about 32" tall and the mower did not hesitate a bit. I was also impressed at the way the mower cut the grass into fine pieces.

I was pleased that it mows in reverse. I bought it at a independent dealer. They delivered it to my house and had it prepared before hand at the warehouse for its first mowing. I was very pleased. They are less than 3 miles from the house so repairs (hopefully not for a while or at all!) will be quicker and more convenient.

The 50 in cut is real nice. I usually took 1.5 hours to cut my yard with my Craftsman Self-propelled mower but it only took 25 minutes even in tall grass with the "Tank" on .60 acres of ground with alot of shrubs, flowers, and trees. I imagine I can do my whole yard minus weedeating in about 15 minutes when I get more use to it. I still wonder about the GT2554 Tractor but I am very pleased with the mowing at my house. I plan to mow the church yard (6 acres) this weekend so I will repost how it manages on the different terrain and grass.

Ticket price: $5,198.47
Yeah! I know! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif Well You buy cheap you have cheap! I did my research and I was impressed by the CC M50-KHS. I sure would have loved a fabricated deck but thats more money and well, "There is always something bigger and better" SO I decided to buy for my needs and let others opinions be just that opinions! THere will always be someone who will say, " I think you should have.......... Yeah, Well, Thank God I am not YOU! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I hope to please God by making the church yard the most beautiful yard in our area! A clean, well-maintained yard speaks loud that people care! Not just for the property but for others as well! Signoff here---- Post Later! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Hey, you picked one! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
And posted a review... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Unless you take a fancy to a few gardening attachments at a later date, I highly doubt you'll be wondering about that GT very often after you get used to the ZTR. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

What were the deciding factors?

Good hearing it tackled your lawn so well; if had no trouble navigating the grade you described earlier; I can't imagine many challanges your church grounds will give it. It will be fun reading that review too. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

What sealed it for me was the Engine and overall heavier frame on the Commercial mowers. I would have loved a fabricated deck but there is always something bigger and better. I just hope I do not hit a pot-hole while going 9 mph. Ouch! The seat is so comfortable I believe that was the most comfortable I have ever been while mowing. Mowing was fun and the time saved on weedeating was a life-saver.

See you're already forgetting about that GT! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif The ZTR sure does make mowing more fun and keep the trimming minimal. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

There definitely is something about the comfort of a nicer seat too. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Did you compare any other brands than those discussed earlier [not suggesting others - only asking because it'd be even more info to add to this review]?

That reminds me, before you add to this review, you might get more views if you ask the mods to move this thread to lawn and garden; however, since your machine is a CC I'm sure it's not out of place here either.
