I got my Metalpro Ironworker

not to drag up a dead post, but now that you've had this for a while, how about a long term report? :D i've looked at the marketing materials, but i'd like to know from a user.

how does it handle thin (gage metal to 1/8") for punching and shearing? any distortion?

does it have any punch and shear ratings for aluminum or stainless?

is there a more detailed capacity chart for shearing / punching? i remember seeing something like 1/4x6 and 3/8x4 shearing. any specs/suggestions on thicker and thinner materials?

i appreciate any help and insights you can supply. i worked for a large fabricator in the past, and had been around ironworkers, but i always assumed that the prices were close to that of a nice car. i never realized that there were weekend warrior class machines like this until now. heck, even ebay has some fairly decent used ones listed, course, they're all 3500mi from me.

I have sheared a lot from 1/8 to 1/4 up to 6" wide with no distortion. I haven't tried any thing thinner but If you tell me what size to try, I will if I have it. I have punched 3/4 holes in 3/8 with no problems. They do make a 4500 that has a little larger capacity than mine. I have never ran any thing like a Scotchman so I realy can't compare it.
