Folks, last year you were helping me pray for my wife who had a brain aneurysm rupture right before Christmas. This year I am asking for your prayers for myself. Last Saturday while my Dad was in the hospital for a bad heart attack, I had one too. Dad is 80, I am 44. I have seven blockages, the worst was opened with a stint. I must return to the hospital right after Thanksgiving for open-heart surgery to do 6 by passes. Please pray for me as I am more than a little nervous. Try to cut as much stress as you can, and take care of yourself. Also pay attention to your body, it could save your life.

Silo,
Our prayers are with you. It just goes to show that you can have heart problems at any age and you can't overlook the symptoms of a heart attack because you think you're "too young".

BTW:
Not to hijack your thread, but I recently learned that with women, a tell-tale symptom of a heart attack is jaw pain. Something for us to watch with our female loved ones.

Silo I had a heart attack and double bypass 3 years ago this JanuaryNo big deal LOL Well you will feel terrible for about a week then when you get home you will feel soooooooo much better. Its a slow process I will tell you one thing though watch your diet and excercise that is very important !!!!! And I know I dont excercise enough. Listen to the drs and while you are in the hospital be a good patient and your stay will be MUCH better, the nurses will give you much better attention ! Im back to and have been back to a near normal life , I do tire much easier now but I just sit and rest for a few minutes. One last thing I LOVE salad now ! You will know what Im talking about when you are in rehab. LOL If you have any ?? send me an email. My real only concern is that I can have another heart attack and I wont be so lucky I think of this every day but life goes on so I dont dwell on it. Good luck and let me know how you make out , and good luck to your father. V

Silo, to look at thinks in the positive side of things.
Thank God you were close to care when you had your heart attack, and thank god you are able to type and let us know to pray.
Seems like god is watching you, and we will boost up the good thoughts with some prayers too.

One more sitting on the prayer bench in your corner, Silo. God Bless and take care of yourself.

I'm there for you, silo36. Two years ago, I had a mild heart attack and a stent inserted. I've never had a bypass, but know lots of folks who have and function very well if they follow doctor's orders.

I'll join in the prayers, also. I have two brothers, both younger than I by 5 and 6 years, and they've both had the stints put in, but so far I have not. I think the bypass surgery has become pretty routine, but I can certainly understand anyone being a bit nervous about it beforehand.
