Hi all
In reading posts I get the idea it is likely to have problems like; clutch, pto or bolts and engines falling apart because not put together right. All in about 300 hours or less. Also, it seems maintance items like filters and of course parts must come from dealer. Gee, I remember when....an old Farmall seemed to run forever. I have an old Farmall C that set for 7 years. I put some oil in engine pistons, hand turned engine, let set couple days and put battery in it. Farmall fired up like it was run yesterday. I also have an International Lo Boy. That does give me lots of problems.

questions;

1. Are we just hearing the bad stuff and most is good. Having major trouble at 300 hours is like, in my opinion, having big trouble with car at 15,000 miles.

2. Is there anyplace on line that we could find parts at better price than regular dealer. At least filters, repair manuals etc. would help out if few $$ can be saved. Hey, even at same price, online might be more cost effective than driving 50 miles to a dealer.

Just observations.....Cheers....Coffeeman

Mahindra sold a WHOLE BUNCH of tractors last year and they are on a roll this year from what I understand. What you see here is merely a handful of owners. How many problems you see here... 10, 20 ??? Thousands and thousands of tractors have been sold.

I would not worry too much... I'm sure there are many more that have had no problems whatsoever than those who have.

Generally speaking when someone has a problem with something they purchase and they are aware of Internet forums they will use it to vent their frustrations... or look for solutions to their problems... it's just a common thing to see lots of problems on forums.

It's not just Mahindra... it's all of them. Every manufacturer has it's share of problems.

As Sonnie said, largely, only people with problems look for a place to get help. You wouldn't expect to see people make posts like

"Hey, new here, I have a Brand X Model Y and have had no problems."

Go to a Ford truck forum and see problems with Ford truck. Same goes for Dodge and GM.

When I went to check out the Mahindra 4110 the thing that really stood out to me was that the only Mahindra in the service bay was a tractor that was brought in and was having a new loader installed. This dealer has been a Mahindra dealership for five years, and has sold hundreds of Mahindras.

The dealer, who is super nice, told me that most of the problems people have with the Mahindras can be fixed over the phone.

What really said a lot about his faith in the 4110 was when he told me his personal tractor, which he also uses as a loaner when he is servicing a machine, is a 4110. This dealership has been selling Massey-Fergusons for decades, so it seemed obvious to me he put a lot of faith in the 4110 to send it out to customers they have had for decades.

Having followed this forum the last six months I have found that the number of problems with the 4110 seem rather small, compared to the number of owners of the tractor who have posted here.

coffeeman, you may or may not have read about my large problem with my 4110 earlier this year -the broken engine bolts. I just wanted to mention that other than that particular malfunction, I have had no other problems with my tractor - none of some of the other problems you might have read about. I have done regular maintenance and haven't had the slightest bit of trouble with starting, charging, PTO operation, hydraulics, hitch etc. I've got close to 850 hours on it now and my confidence in the tractor is reaffirmed - I would buy another. My biggest gripe at the time of my breakdown was lack of interest on Mahindra's part in assisting me, and now that has changed drastically. The company finally got it together, Mr. Startz started fielding issues here and the tech dept. seems to be following his lead and they helped me tremendously. If you will just do your routine maintenance on your 4110, you will probably have many, many years of good service out of it. Good Luck !!
