Kubota BX2230
Some of you regulars may remember I bought my first tractor 2 weeks ago (BX2230 w/FEL and MMM) from Rocky Mount Tractor in Rocky Mount, VA. Kubota had computer issues with their financing program and he delivered it as promised basically on a handshake w/out all the formal approvals. At the time, I thought that was pretty cool, given this day and age, but he's now gone one better.

Last Saturday, I'm out mowing with my new machine (about 6 hours on it), when my front left wheel FALLS OFF!!! Not funny. Quit laughing. Apparently the lug nuts weren't tightened when I got it and they had worked their way loose. Idiot me didn't notice. I found two right beside the wheel and the third about 10 yards away - never found the 4th.

On Monday, I called Wayne and told him what happened. He was immediately apologetic and insisted on coming and picking up the tractor and checking it out 100%. He even replaced the wheel (which had some wear from the loose bolts) and returned it the next day good as new. Of course, everything was no charge as he totally accepted responsibiity for the loose bolts.

Now one can certainly argue it was his responsibility. I think some dealers would have put the blame on me for not noticing. That's not the point. The point is he immediately reacted and fixed the problem, doing what was right for the customer.

He and his Team are a class act and I would highly recommend them to anyone in the Virginia area.

Great dealer - and as for that fourth lug, your MMM will find it, wonder if he will provide you and extra set of blades too?

CHIP ...... Far too often people are far to willing to jump on a site like this and ***** about their dealer and some problems they have had. It's refreshing to see a post like yours. It's comforting to know that there are top shelf dealers out there who understand service after the sale. That's the way my dealer is and I wished everyone was fortunate enough to deal with people like my and your dealer.

Mine never would...if it were possible to cut grass that short...well...I guess I would not have the short weeds that I have already! Just a dust bowl... /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Do people with real grass have grass thick enough to hold a lug nut on top?

Guess those of us with short weeds can't conceive of such a thing... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

This is a gross error on the dealer's part. There is a checklist that they claim to have gone over when you take delivery. I wonder what else they "missed". It is good that they came and picked it so they could do their job correctly in the first place. They are being so accomodating because they know they screwed up big time. What if this happened while you were on the road or crossing the street.

However, it is good that the dealer came and took the tractor. I just wouldn't jump to give them heaps of praise. They're just fixing a major mistake. Putting the wheels and tires on these units is one of the few responsibilites the dealer has.

There is a retourque spec in the manual. Like a big truck will retourque after 100 miles after any tire service as they can and do work loose.

My dealer is really good, too. My dealer of choice is not the one in my Kubota "area", but one an hour and a half north. I encountered him last year when the local dealer tried to sell me a single stage snow blower for the mslp even though it was 2 years new and he couldn't get the proper 2 stage for my T1770. This dealer got me one, at less, drove it down in his evening time and even brought me a Kubota hat! The closer dealer didn't even get me a hat for buying the tractor! When I went shopping for a BX a few weeks ago, the local dealer offered me an atrocious deal with next to nothing for my T1770, 44"mmm and 2-stage snowblower at 250h. I emailed the out of area dealer. He quoted me a significantly lower amount with much more on the trade than the other dealer swore he could get a new T1770 with blower! So I drove up to see the other dealer and when I found out he had not only added a ballast box and grill guard but had included tax, I said 'you got a deal'.

Like you, he also brought it out without any papers signed (although he has my T1770) and I have 10 hours seat time already.

On the way back, I could se the final knife in the back from the closer dealer when he would have advised 'plus tax, of course'!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
