I have water in my diesel what should I do

Maybe the reason for the separator (other than detecting adding fuel w/water in it) is because the M9000 has two big metal fuel tanks. Partially filled metal fuel tanks are prone to sweating and getting water inside. This can be reduced by keeping them full when not in use. I think filling them when you are finished is a great idea.

I don't know how most tractor tanks are constructed. Plastic tanks should not have this problem.

I am worried that I will forget to check mine. I guess I need to add this to my operation precheck procedure.

I have a resolution. Talk about a great Fuel Distributor they came out at precisely 9:30 they took one look decided since I was the first stop that day that there would have been a bunch of people screaming all over South Texas if they had delivered the fuel with water in it so proceeded to look the tank over no problems there and then looking at the tank since I haven't painted it yet you can see that it was stored on its side so water could easily enter into it with the vent sitting sideways. They pumped the diesel out of the storage tank filtered it helped me get the diesel out of the tractor and filtered it refueled apologized profusely for my troubles topped off the both tanks at no charge all done in less than an hour and I'm back up and running.

( Use a Mr. Funnel to pull out the water coming from the storage tank while you're filling the tractor's tank. It will get most of the water. )
Sorry if someone has already posted this, I'm reading down and responding without seeing all the next posts.
The trouble with this at this time is that poster has already treated with power service which disperses the water in the diesel. Mr. Funnel cannot remove the dispersed water particles. I now wait to treat my fuel AFTER it's in my tractor's tank, after using Mr. Funnel to get in there. John

John in the words of mattel I think "You sunk my battleship". I went to Westmarine yesterday and got the medium size Mr. Funnel it was about $25.00. I didn't realize that what PS did was dispearse the water I don't actually know what I thought maybe it eats it. I will keep the funnel as it still looks like it will do a very good job of filtering even if it won't get the water out of the tank once PS is used. Thanks for your response Steve

Power Service will help to disperse small amounts of water, but it will not disperse all amounts of water. Try running fuel through the filter into a clean container and pouring the fuel back into your bulk container. If you get an water coming out of the fuel, you will know what you are doing is going to be the remedy for the problem. If you don't find any water in the fuel, then you know that it is of a negligible amount.
