I just looked at a Cub Cadet 7200 w/FEL and less than 200 hrs. It ran very well through all gears. However, the brakes squeaked big time when you put them on to slow down when the tractor was in gear. But when you would step on the brakes and clutch to come to complete stop, the brakes were fine.

The operation of the FEL was a little jerky going up. However, putting it down after fully raising the FEL it really jerked and went down fairly fast and would stop with a jerk. When I stopped the FEL midway and then were easy with the joystick is was much smoother. Also, there were no implements on the 3pt hitch, so I did not get to test that under stress.

The owner is asking $7000 , is this a good deal. Is the jerky FEL any concern? Any and all input appreciated.

Thanks

I forgot to add, the tractor is 4wd and gear driven.

If it's 4wd, it's not a 7200, it would be a 7205, assuming a 20 HP motor. These machines were late 90's early 2000's, so it's been sitting a lot with 200 hours. That could explain the squeaky brakes. Did you check hyd fluid for the jerky loader?
These were good units, I THINK Mitsubishi engines?
Although it is low hours, 7K seems a bit high to me.
Good luck!

7205= 4x4 Hydro
7200= 4x4 Gear
7000= 2WD Gear

I have a 7200 4x4 Cub w/FEL and use it frequently. The FEL is smooth but will jerk if you are going down with a load and release the hydraulic quickly. smooth operation is the key. Brakes probably need to be cleaned not changed. I mean after all its not a road vehicle stopping at 4-ways. brakes should be fine.
$7200 depends on the year, condition of the unit eg. tires, clutch etc. I think $7200 is low. Mine has less than 200 hrs too. New similar tractors run in the $15,000+/- range
I love my 2004 7200 It does absolutely every thing I ask of it and would not sell it for $7200 so if all is ok with the one you are looking at, I would think that's a very good price.

The brakes squeeking is likely from it sitting for a long period of time. My cub had a few minor problems because of sitting for so long but since I have brought it back to being used frequently and taking care of the maintenance it is spot on and is a great work horse.
