Well, I got it back together it's working like a charm. It took being routed to several people at the valve company. The standard response from the first 3 was, 'You need to talk to the people a TSC". What a pointless waste of the time that endeavor was. Talking with 16 year old kids who's computer skills are more practiced at video games than researching data is frustrating at best.
"Sir, if you notice..."
"Young man, I'm on the same web page as you. That is not the valve on my splitter."

So I finally get connected to somebody who knows the assembly in and out.

So this is how it went. The collar that holds the four small ball bearing in place needs to be slid over the punch/dowel. Next the large ball bearing is pushed (via the punch/dowel) against a retaining spring inside the the main shaft. Once seated the 4 small ball bearings are inserted - bunch of grease recommended. Then the coller is slid into place, which holds the 4 small ball bearings in place which in turn holds the large ball bearing in place up against the spring residing inside the main shaft of the valve (spool ??, still don't get that terminology)

Working. It's a happy day in the neighborhood.:D
