Last night I let my son use the RTV to take some friends for a ride in the woods. When they came back he damaged the tailgate while raising the dumpbed, obviously by lowering the tailgate without the cables attached, raising the bed, and denting the lip of the tailgate with the rear hitch.

So now I need another tailgate. It's really not that bad, but I'm **** with my equipment.
Does anyone have a camo tailgate your not using???????

Sorry don't have a spare tailgate but what happened to you points up a weakness in the rtv bed design. If you just replace the gate and dont add a rear bumper or other means to keep the gate out of harms way - probably will happen again. I added a rear bumper with a quick detach feature for filter changes, replaced the cable wires with real chain and stiffened the gate with a sheet of diamond plate. MAy be cheaper in the long run to have a new gate fabbed from square tube and plate.

You did good beefing yours up. I beat out the dents and creases, so it will have to do for now, but it looks much better than before. Now, it's more cosmetic than anything else. I may opt for the diamond plate as you did to cover the lip where it's most noticeable.

Been there done that, twice already.

Pics on this site too. Bent the tailgate AND the bed. Straightened the bed out, ordered a new tailgate.

They ain't cheap. And I am still belly aching about doing it the first time, let alone the second........

I did a search for front and rear rtv900 bumpers and found protectors for everything else but. I cannot count the times I have been thankful for the ones I added. Not sure why they put all the time and effort into the brushguard and left so much other vital (and expensive) areas unprotected. We have lots of sharp jutting rocks that seem to hide in the low brush just waiting to getcha!
