I second the idea of trenching and bringing in water for a permenant fix. Some people i know only bring in seasonal ater line (blown oyt in winter) and put it 6-8" below ground instead of the 4' depth for a perminant line.

If your in a warmer climate you can do this with a ditch witch and a few hours time. Will save alot of time in the long run

Very easy to blow out. If you connect it with a hose to the hose bib, you just need to remove that and make an adapter from a hose end fitting and some pipe and a quick disconnect air fitting. If it is hard plumbed, just add a T- fitting with a valve on each leg (incoming water and open T end for blow out). Just about any compressor can blow out the line well enough, even a little pancake one. Doesn't need to be bone dry, just basically clear of bulk water.

...Assuming freezing climate...

yup, i have a air hose fitting with water shut off valve on my sprinkler lines . All i need to do is hook up the compressor hose and cycle all the timers......the system blows itself out for winter prep.

Not to seem contrary, but I've had much better luck sucking the water out of buried lines using a shop-vac.

I hadn't considered the buried line option since it's not even remotely possible in my own situation. Good call!

Forty gallons is not enough... I fill a 55 gallon drum from a 275 gallon cube and run it dry pretty quickly, five loads. I need to add another cube or two!!! Do you collect rain water?

Also, a 12 volt sprayer will run any battery down fast. Gravity works better and is cheaper... look into just transporting just the water. Sprayers are for spraying "measured" liquids at a constant pressure / GPA. Just a 55 gallon drum is better for what you need done.

Perhaps, but... :)

Towing a 300 gallon / 3250 pound water trailer behind a BX24 is going to be an adventure EVERY time you do it. Getting going will be tough on the machine -- and stopping, well it had better be level where you want to stop, and you'd better not want to stop quickly... otherwise it will be quite a ride and you may not like the end result: hanging from the seatbelt in your jackknifed and overturned BX24.

Anything can be pulled....now stopping is another matter. Remember that old ford (or chevy) commercial that showed their trucks pulling a bunch of train box cars......theynever showed that truck stopping. hehe

With a one shank subsoiler, tractor, some wire and duct tape you can do a great job of running black plastic PE water line out to your garden.

Of course do the "one call" deal if you have any concerns about gas, electric, phone lines being in the path of your water line.

I usually use 3/4" PE pipe. You get it in rolls and you can even find it at Lowes / Home Depot.

I hose clamp a barb into one end of the pipe. Run the bailing wire around the bottom back of the shank of my subsoiler then around where the hose clamp is attached to the barb. Use duct tape to tape around the end of the barb and the wire to hold everything in place. Have a helper to unroll the pipe so it doesn't get kinked up. Start at one end and point your tractor the way you want to run the line. I usually dig a hole at the starting point and drop the shank of the subsoiler in the hole. Then slowly drive while your helper unrolls the pipe at the roll.
