I need help with hydraulic fluid

I recently bought a 770 case david brown. The rear arms wont lift up with a load on it. I checked the filter and it was horrible. It is also very low on hydraulic fluid. Problem is, I cant find where to drain the existing fluid, 2nd I dont even know where to add fluid. 3rd. what kind of hydraulic fluid should I use? Any help is very much appreciated. I am new to this!

Welcome, and how about you ask the previous owner about his machine he sold you, he should know very well

From the sounds of it the previous owner didn't do it, so he might not know how!

I went down to try to buy a filter at tsc they had none, went to another place they couldnt even order one. I looked at a JD 2240 with loader they want $10500, and a late 90 model kubota 35hp with loader for $12000 had 600 hours on it. I am thinking really hard about getting one of those instead.He said he would give me $1200 trade in on my david brown.

Before you take $1200 on a trade-in, where are you located? You could get more selling locally.

I am in Salina, Ok. I thought about listing it for sale. I have seen the same tractor not running sell for over $2,500 on ebay locally. This one runs and starts very easy! I guess collectors like them.

If it's worth that much.. then get a manual for it and service it. I'd be surprised if it wouldn't accept UTF style fluid.

There may even be a I&T service manual that fits it...
