I put in a Pool

We have had a small pool about 8 ft across for the last ten years and have loved it so I bought a new pool this year. It is 24 ft across and 52 inch s deep so far we love it. Now putting it in was alot of work here is a few pic's if anyone els is thinking about putting in a pool.

That's going to be so much more fun than the small one!

It must have taken quite some time to fill with the hoses. One thing you can do is check with any local milk haulers. I have one that will bring water for a very reasonable fee - sure cuts down on filling time and saves wear and tear on your pump.

I learned alot of things putting this pool in and checking with the milk guy is another. It took about 2.5 days running consant during day light hours about 7am --9 pm as it recomended not filling at night also i made sure my pump was kicked on and not starting and shutting off .

I hauled water mostly to fill mine. About 250 gallons a time and only about 4 miles to the fire hydrant at the edge of town I was filling from. It takes a lot of water to fill a pool! Nice job and the deck looks nice.

I didn't see any bolts on your beams. Did you use bolts to support the load?

Did you use any diagonal bracing on your posts? Not sure if you have any movement or not, but just doing the corners will make a huge difference in how much movement you have on the deck, and how much longer it will survive.

I'd like to say I thought of it, but the guy at the pool company told us and gave us the guy's name. I understand if we had been in town, apparently the Fire Dept also was an option. (Out in our rural area, the local Volunteer FD doesn't get into that.)

Eddie I did not use any bolts I just put 4 deck screws in each cornor do you think I should bolt it? I can do it easy enough also i did not use any diagonal braces agian i could add them the deck seems very sturdy and does not move. I am no carpenter i am just to cheap to hire one so i try my self. Here is another pic that shows more of braces.

My tractor was a life saver first i used it to leavel the ground also used it to haul in the 4.5 tons of sand for the bottom base also use it and my forks to unload pool from semi also used it to pull semi out when he got stuck turning around. Oh and also used it to lift me out of the pool when finished with liner.
