My place must be way too small. After doing all the tilling I can think of on my place, I'm still itching for more.

I've tilled my own garden a few times, and it's planted now. I was feeling sorry for myself that I had no more work for the tiller until a new neighboor from a few streets down noticed my tractor and asked if he could hire me to till his new garden.

I won't accept any money for my tractor time, but I jumped at the chance to help him out. He had about 500 square feet of garden, and it took me about 30 minutes to go over it 3 times. I still didn't feel done, so I stopped at three or four houses of people I know on the way back home to ask if they had their gardens in yet. I tilled all evening until I ran out of daylight.

That was some good seat time.

I say it is time to move  I work 3 acres but my neighbor has 300 so I can play in his sandbox any time.

Georgia's a long drive for me.

Hopefully I'll get a few bell peppers too. Mine all froze.

I owe enough favors to enough people that I will never get the chance to pay back. The least I can do is pay it forward. I don't know if it really counts as doing a favor, though, when I enjoy doing it so much.

Seat time.... argh.....

When my buddies septic drain feild failed a few weeks ago someone had the bright idea that with his new backhoe it would be easy to dig the trenches for a new drain feild, ONLY 300 feet we said.... :confused2:

well.... 30hrs later the trenches were done... then came backfill and gradeing the yard.... then move the shed out of the way, then bust up 10x20 patio slab (easy right... NOT! 5" with reinforcing wire) then do MORE gradeing.

still have yet to put seed down which will require more gradeing, and tilling.

we started the project a hair under 500hrs on my tractor... currently pushing 540 so by the time we are done, we will have put a 100 hrs on my tractor in a little over a month mostly on his project....

seat time ive had plenty of in the past month

I know the feeling.
The other evening i tilled a neighbors garden down the road about 1.5 miles.
Last month I spread my next door neighbors 2 dump truck loads of horse manure on his garden for him.

I don't bake cookies at Christmas. I don't buy the magazine subscriptions from the elementary school kids. I go to very few wedding receptions or funerals.

I till gardens and plow snow. That's my contribution to the community.

You are a good man. I can only say good things about my neighbors so I can imagine what it might be like to have you for one. As for baking cookies. I'm an unrivaled expert at eating them but that's about it.

It takes all of us. If there were none of us to eat the cookies, what fun would it be for those who bake them.
