Henri, he was rather inconsiderate trying to peck me when he recovered, so you might be right....:laughing:

I scooped him up because it was so cold and our two cats were on the prowl. They get enough healthy critters on their own so I didn't want them to have an unfair advantage....as hard as he hit I was surprised he didn't break his neck.

I had a Delta Airlines Co Pilot hit my sliding glass door , fall on his butt and I had to rescue him...True story...my neighbor came over...he was the Delta pilot and my Mrs. told him I was out on the Deck ..so he came into the family room and did not see the sliding glass door was closed and he ran right into it at full speed...knocked him on his butt and he was groggy....My Mrs. kept it sparkling clean...We all had a good laugh after his head stopped aching...LOL

Worried that some of my little Yellow Finch birdfeeder buddies might not make it thru the night.

Well somehow the Yellow Finches made it thru the night (-13F actual, -35F windchill)!

That's one reason why I'm not fanatical about washing the windows on my house. A little dirt cuts down on the bird strikes.

The high school I went to back in the early 70's (1970s that is), had huge plate glass windows and every day you could walk around the building complex and pick up at least 2 or 3 deaders. Always had plenty of samples for Biology class, and even had some nice ones when i was practicing taxidermy.
