First of all-thanks everybody for all the advice. It was very helpful and very much appreciated.

Here's the news. After kicking a lot of tires and test driving many brands and models, I finally settled on a JD 2320 with 200CX FEL, pasture shredder, canopy and chain harrow.

Tractor was delivered Saturday evening about 6:00 p.m. (dealer delivered it for free since his driver lives in my area-very nice of them).

Wouldn't you know it-Sunday morning, started that thing up and got to working. By the next time I looked, the sun was going down, the work was (nearly) done (work is never really done around our place), and my shiny new green toy had turned to brown from all the dirt and mud we had been playing in all day. I will say, though, that when I parked it in the shed and put the bucket down, it did have a very satisfied look on its face.

All in all a good day.

Oh no; you didn't wash and polish before putting the tractor away for the night!:D :D :D :D

Is that what it was? I looked in the mirror at the end of the day and thought-"I don't remember eating any licorice." Now it all makes sense.:D

Actually, I would have if I had the opportunity. We are keeping the tractor out at the "ranch", and we don't have running water yet. Our only water supply is from a do-it-yourself cistern system which we use to supply the horses, and there is not water pressure-gravity flow only. Not capable of giving me enough water/pressure to hose the tractor off.

Rule #1: Always spread manure while going INTO the prevailing wind!

Congrats and always have fun, wish work would always be that fun.
