Mahindra 2615 gear
Mahindra red gets the nod. Yesterday I went to my local dealer and ordered a new 2615 gear with ML106 loader. This dealer had not impressed me much in the past, but when we sat down and got serious he proved to be easy to work with and offered the lowest price for the combo of three Mahindra dealers. I went back one more time to look because he was local before making a final decision and ended up buying. I looked at and liked the CK25 Kioti and 2810 Branson. Both dealers here made a good impression on me and have a good reputation. Both units are quality with good features. The shuttle shift is desirable, but not a must have since lots of loader work is not on the agenda. The heavier weight of the Kioti and Branson didn't sway me because mowing will be the first and primary job of the 2615. Ultimately the 2615 falls in line with my budget and is adequate for the job so color me Mahindra red. I didn't buy a mower since I've not decided whether a 5 or 6 foot finish is what I want. I'm open to suggestion on that. DMB

I've looked at the Mahindras and was very impressed with the tractors. My problem was the dealership in my area, it is a garden center. But the Mahindra garden center is better than the local (the closest is in the next county) Kioti dealer that didn't have any tractors larger than little garden tractors, I drove to look at those yesterday and was disappointed by the dealer (how do you become a dealer without tractors?). Its nice to hear that your dealer, when things got down to doing business, proved to be a serious dealership that you feel you can trust. As for a finish mower size, 3pto HP per foot of mower deck is a good rule of thumb. If you have heavy lush grass, then consider that the minimum. I use a 5' on a tractor with 19pto hp and consider it a good match even if I wait an extra week before getting out to do the cutting. Did you get R4 tires or turf tires? If you got the R4's you will find they work well on the lawn as long as you stay out of 4wd as you will tear the turf when you take turns). When do you get delivery?

Welcome to the club. I've got the same tractor as you and am very happy with it.

Mahindra has really spammed the country with dealers. There are probably too many dealers in some areas but I suspect they are going to let the strongest survive. There are as many Mahindra dealers in my area as Kubota dealers but I only found one of them to be any good.

The nice thing with the 2615 is that it is the same as older Cub Cadet 7265 series and has been around in some form for a few years. It should be easy to find parts and service for it.

Have fun with the tractor.

I did get the R4 tires which I believe to be the best all around choice. Delivery will be in two weeks. It could have been sooner if I'd wanted, but my pole barn isn't up yet, so no hurry. DMB

And yes, I intend to have fun.... Oh! I mean I'll have lots of hard work to do with my new toy/tool. DMB

Just for general principles, ask your dealer about the engine mounting bolts. I think your 2615 is a red Lucy (2725 Cub Cadet) and those bolts needed watching. Also, congratulations on your choice! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
