ID these weird bee looking things swarming around sand pile

There are something around my farm too, sound like Bumble Bees by the noise but move fast enough and blending into the wet ground so good I cant ID them. They seem to semi swarm in 3~6 in groups buzzing a 2 or 3 yard area. there were 40 or 50 in a 75x75 sized area on my place over the last week. Never remember seeing them before so I was going to try & snap a pic mine are mostly brownish and about size of queen yellow jacket or a stretched out skinny bumble bee.

Probably the same thing. These arent really big at all. I'd say no more than 1" long.

But the buzzing patterns and stuff everyone here describes, is identical to what I saw
