Identify this sickle bar mower

My brother inherited this 7ft sickle bar mower when be moved into his new house. I was thinking about making an offer on it, but I don't know what it is, what problems to look for, or what it's worth. I realize it needs a belt and some grease, but the cutting teeth appear to be in good condition. I know almost nothing about these types of mowers and would appreciate some help.

with that old faded green paint im pretty sure its an old JD sickle mower.looks like a 39n cutter.but im not all that sure on the modal #.but its an old sickle mower.
