I'm trying to figure out which backhoe I've got. It's a bradco (name still easily visible). Under the name is '??HD' where I thought the ?? was either a C or U - it's badly scratched/rubbed off.

Some observations.
1) has a pto pump
2) connects to a subframe (not 3pt)
3) thermometer on 'drivers' side
4) 2 control sticks + 2 stabilizer levers
5) leaks (wouldn't help to identify it would it?)

I searched and found references to an 11HD, which seems to fit, but I don't know how to tell for sure. Strangest thing - there is no plate identifying model, year made, etc.

On google, only 1 hit on 'bradco 11hd'. Weird.

Any guidance would be helpful. Thanks.

Am new to this forum but read someone having a Bradco 11HD. Do a search on Bradco 11 HD and you will find someone in this forum has one.

Does it look anything like this?

I'm a Bradco 11HD owner - mine uses the tractor's pump, and has a subframe. There's a review of the rig here

I'll bet it's an 8HD. The 8 means it's an 8 foot hoe (the 11HD is an 11 foot hoe). I think there were MD models as well.

Just guessing, but I'd bet the HD models correspond to the modern 600 series, and that the MDs correspond to the current 500 series hoes. So the 8HD would be equivalent to 609 (happens to be 9 foot now).

Peter - you are right about the Bradco models. Bradco's older model numbers were 6,7, 8, 9 etc. followed by LD, MD or HD (light medium or heavy duty) The model lineup ranged from 6LD up through 11HD - and I've heard of a 13MD too.

I believe the light, medium or heavy duty models had 2" diameter, 2 1/2" or 3" hydraulic cylinders, respectively.

Greg - your 2120 is a rugged unit - it may have an 11HD.

I believe mine is an 11HD. I got the Bradco folks to fax me the spec page for the 9 and 11 HD. The only spec that I can use (without digging a deep hole /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif) is the transport height.

I'm still trying to find a id plate!

The bradco identification numbers are similar to my small Brantly Mfg co backhoe which is the LD6 model. Does this mean that this was originally made by or supplied to brantly by or from bradco? (if that makes sense!) Does any one know. I have tried researching brantly on the web but believe the company closed some time ago. Luckily I obtained a photocopy manual for the backhoe from kubota Uk when I first obtained my tractor.

On my 11HD the nameplate is near oper's left knee - sorry about low-quality pic - it started out as a huge file - crammed it in software - need a better picture handler. (or smarter computer handler)

I can't find a tag anywhere. I think this is an OEM version of the 11HD from Ford. It's really odd.

I'm going to be attaching it this weekend, and measuring the transport height. This will solve the puzzle.

Thanks.
