idle surge

ck30 with 35 hrs on it-
at idle it surges between 800 to 1100 rpm-
seems that when it is first started it will idle evenly-
when it is warmed up it starts to surge-
is there a simple adj i can make to fix this ?

I don't know ANY of the specifics on that engine, but in general, surging from a diesel engine is usually caused by a fuel delivery problem, often caused by the injector pumps internal governor. First check for problems with the fuel itself. (dirt, water, ect.) Then check filters and screens. Also, it could be as simple as an injector being partially stopped up or going bad. If all the obvious things look OK, get it to the dealer/shop for an expert opinion.

whatever was causing the surge worked itself out of the system-
have put another 6 or 8 hrs on her and it idles right.
