I was at a dealer for Mahindra/LS today and the Mahindra rep was in talking with the owner.He told me and the owner that Mahindra prices will go up 6-8% October 1.So if your on the fence you got 4 days before the price increase.

If the dealer already has the tractor on his lot does he own it? Therefore will prices go up on current inventory or just ordered tractors?
I've seen 2 8560 cabs sit on my local dealers lot for months now. I'll buy one...probably within the next year assuming things don't get worse. Can't justify it right now though.

Because of the economy, they have held prices for 3 years and the dollar exchange rate to the Yen or Rupe has consumed the profit margin. Prices have gone up about 5% +/-, so it is not a huge increase. You have no choice but to sell them for more then you pay for them...even in volume selling below cost does not work.

Interestingly, the recession has been much kinder on the tractor business then on many other businesses. Sales are up in California substantially for all brands this year over last, and Mahindra's market share growth has outpaced the aggregate growth of all brands combined in California. We are well over double of last years sales both in our own retails and in distributing to other dealers in the west.

Many dealers bought up inventory before the price increase, so you will still see some good pricing on select models for a few weeks to a few months depending on the dealer, his inventory, and his philosophy on handling price increases.
