COLA increase announced for payments starting in January of 2.8%, supposedly the largest in several years.
SSI also.
SSI also.
Federal pensions are golden compared to the private sector. Some of us have no or little pension from large public companies. Small companies generally have none. Fed employees can generally retire sooner than those who groveled in the private sector because of pensions.Still doesn't catch up we have lost the last 10 years raises less than inflation. Waiting to see what other federal pensions raise next year. Military and civil service have lost ground also as I have both also.

Can't wait till Dec. to see what bill goes up to take care of that 2.8%
Agreed. I am on SS and it just gets smaller and smaller. One copay and I’m in the red again.Yea, last year we got a SS increase and our medicare insurance went up the by same amount, thus the government gave the raise to it's self. We didn't get squat. I expect the same to happen with this increase.
I was a gov employee - here in the lower States it would be called county employment. In Alaska it was a borough. Believe me - my meager SS and gov retirements are far from GOLDEN. Thank goodness I have no payments and no thoughts of any major purchases in my future - ever.
However - I do not have to eat dirt - yet. And yes, I will appreciate getting more of the money I kicked in - returned to me.
