IH 274 Diesel

Have you tried Bates Corporation? That's where I look for parts for my 424 diesel.

Try cross-referencing the exhaust manifold for the IH 284. The 284 was essentially the same tractor, but not offset for cultivating like the 274 was.

My old literature and other info shows that they use the same engine, a 99 cubic-inch Nissan. The literature looks as though the exhaust exits the hood at the same place.

Thank you. I have tried Bates and found manifold $454; muffler $380. Might have to bite the bullet. Thanks for info! alf
