For those interested, I spoke with Mahindra today and was told the following:
The plug at the top behind the seat uses non-foaming 30 weight hydralic fluid.
The plug down by the pto for the drive line and brakes uses a Universal Power Fluid 10w15 weight transmission type oil such as Shevron 1000 or Shell Donex TD.

Now, BobG, that is different from what you found in the manual. I am going to look at mine again tonight.

Slippy, not sure where the dealer is coming from....when I drained my trans/diff, it was 90W gear oil....way to thick to be 10W-30 anything...I went by the book...BobG in VA

Well..I got in touch with my old dealer and he says use Universal Transmission Tractor fluid in both. He said they used to use the 90w in the lower unit but found that in the colder climate areas they would cause the tractor to "take off". Gear lub was too thick. He said use UTF in both like Mobel 424 or shell products. FYI. Also, he said need to be sure that it has the additive for brakes, not just straight hyd fluid. He just suggested using a high quality fluid.

Ok...I now have looked at the manual closer and it says, like BobG has suggested, to use 80w90 gear lub in the transmission, but only in minimum temperatures over 90 degrees.

Over 32 degrees it suggest mild type E.P. gear lub without special supplements (Molykote), or extreme pressure gear lubricant grade 1135 APL6L4. On the preceeding page is says use 134H E.P. 1H spec B-22. The way it is worded, it is unclear to me if or means use the extreme pressure or don't use it.

For the hydraulics it says use SAE 20 or 20w-40 30 grade non foaming.

What is the difference between weight and grade?

Can anyone tell me what all this means, or better yet, what product meets the test?

Edit: EP means extreme pressure so the "or" means you can use either one.
