We have always gone "rescued dogs". Currently have a cross between a lab/Karelian bear dog and a cattledog/rotti......both good dogs.......interesting read if you are a dog person......

I think the most trainable dog I've had was a mixed breed, so mixed I couldn't tell you which breeds. :laughing: But trainable might be another way of saying "willing to please." Dogs that aren't so interested in pleasing humans can still be very clever for their own purposes.
