I\'ll never complain about JD\'s parts prices again

I just had to order a gas tank for my pressure washer with a 6.5 HP Honda engine. The tank was $120 for a 1.something gallon tank. Unfortunatley I had to have it, the old tank had several rust holes in it and I could not repair it. The tank has a false bottom..JD's prices seem pretty good after this....

Amen brother. I just bought a new spindle for my Massey 1655 for $350Canadian (or $.14 US). I can't mow without the mowing deck so I had no choice. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I feel that you pay a premium for JD parts,BUT with that said,9 times out of 10 you have them the next day if they are not in stock. The price might be high but it is also comforting to know it is easy and quick to get the parts when you need them.

that was a joke /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif actually $350 CDN is roughly $265 US.

One of the major reasons I went to JD for my CUT was their excellent parts availability....I have never felt their cost was excessive except for one incident. Prior to performing the 50 hour hydro fluid and filter change, I ordered a gasket for the suction screen cover.

$5.69 plus tax for a little gasket.... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif. Nice mark up but they DID have it the next day. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I never even considered buying another tractor because I knew JD would be around for many years to come,my previous tractor was a Mitsubishi and parts were very scarce and hard to find....never again....the tractor was a good tractor,but parts and service after the sale was lousy.

To add insult to injury, the tank came without a filler cap or a fuel fitting. Good thing I saved the old ones.
