OK, I finally got an iMatch quick hitch and thought I understood how to use it. I got it hooked up to the tractor and tried to hook up to my box blade. This was an epic failure.

My tractor is a John Deere 5065e. I bought a Category 2 iMatch and planned on using my category 1 implements with it thinking that just using the standard bushing for the regular cat 2 hitch 3 point conversion bushing/sleeve would work. I am embarrassed at my ignorance and now coming here to get straightened out. Obviously the iMatch is too wide for the cat 1 implements, but in researching this it appears that a special bushing adaptor is required.

Is it possible to use my cat 1 implements with the cat iMatch? Is there a cat 1 to cat 2 adaptor bushing for the iMatch which allows use of cat 1 implements with the cat 2 iMatch.

My bushings for Cat 1 attachments to fit my iMatch look like this.

2 things, yes there is a "special" bushing that changes the OD of the pin of your'e desired imp from the cat I diameter to a cat III diameter that fits the lower hooks. I say special as all you really need is a cat I-II slid into a cat II-III from any farm and ranch store. 2nd thing, yes, your hitch is to wide. cat II quick hitches are at 32 3/4" where cat I quick hitches are at 27" approx. There is another "special" bushing kit LP19969, it was intended to make cat I imp's a little more stable as well as make Deere balast box's fit the cat I quick hitch better. It is possible this kit may help, but seems like a lot of stress on a couple of bushings. You might be better served getting a cat I hitch, but there could be something out there I am not aware of. Good luck

LP19969 is the bushing kit that beenthere has posted.

If all of your implements are cat 1 then get a cat 1 IMatch. If you have cat1 and 2 combination implements then either of the cat 1 or 2 IMatches will work. All of the IMatch quick hitches use cat 3 pin sizes to fit the hitch.

It will take more than bushings to use Cat 1 implements on a Cat 2 quick hitch. The lower hooks on the cat 2 hitch are about 6 inches wider apart.

See chart above.

Priefert made or sold a hitch that would adjust for width so it could be used on both Cat1 and 2. You might find one, or make yours adjustable.

You have three option.
1. Trade your CAT-2 iMatch for a CAT-1.
2. Buy CAT-2 implements to attach to your CAT-2 iMatch.
3. Modify all your CAT-1 implements to CAT-2.

How about
4. Buy a cat 1 IMatch
