I have this IMCO Cultivator and need some parts. One of the springs is different and the sweeps are the wrong angle. Does anyone know if these parts cross reference to something still in production? What angle sweep should I look for?

As long as it works like the others I wouldn't worry about one spring being different. The parts are probably pretty generic. You should be able to find something that will fit at a local farm supply that carries such things if you have one, or online at places like agrisupply.

C-tine VENDERS: Google

Cultivator sweeps are for tillage 1" to 3" deep. Your implement, with slender C-tines, should have Cultivator sweeps installed. To increase soil penetration, SHORTEN Top Link.

Field Cultivator sweeps are for tillage 3" to 6" deep. Field Cultivator sweeps generate more draft force, resisting forward motion of tractor. Field Cultivator sweeps are generally installed on more robust tines.

Some use one type in the center, the other type on the outside tines.

(( If Cultivator does not touch ground, or barely touches ground when mounted on your Three Point Hitch you may have to move pin from TOP adjustment hole on left and right side Lifting Rod stirrups, which attach to Lower Links, to the LOWER of the two or three holes in the stirrups. Making this adjustment will drop your Lower Links approximately 4". ))

Thanks for the reply. The one shank (not original) is bent more than 180 degrees and the tine surfs when the others are set where they should be. I think I located a replacement which is on the way. Because this one sweep wont bite unless I do like you said and shorten the Top, it causes the implement to bite more on one side than the other making it hard to keep it centered. I have shimmed up the one sweep with washers were it sits at the same angle as the others, however with nearly 7" of rain it is way to muddy to venture out into the garden.

What I was wondering is how bedding disc's and a middle buster were attached and if there is a something out there that is a direct replacement? Is there any other implement that uses this same bolt pattern in the center?

My experience with different brands of Cultivators is not that varied.

However, most of the designs are very similar to your picture. Perhaps slightly differing bolt sizes required but not much else.

I would do some careful measuring and dimension recording, then order from the internet. Agri Supply is usually the best source for tillage parts.

These two videos from everythingattachments.com may be helpful:

Here is a Google search for images of garden cultivators:

I trust you have Lower Link stabilizers tightened, but allowing enough slack for implement to deviate a bit should a sweep encounter a 7" rock under soil surface.
