Implement/Attachment advise for 4720

So I bought the Branson 4720 with the 8620 backhoe. Tractor supply has a 72" box blade with rippers for $699, and an auger for $429. The brand is County Line. Are these worth picking up? 72" a good size box for a 47hp tractor?

Tarter 3-Pt Implements: 3 Point - Tarter Farm & Ranch

TSC's COUNTYLINE implements are currently made for TSC by Tarter in Kentucky.

The width of your tractor with ag tires is 61", so you could go with a 65" or 66" Box Blade if you have ag tires.
The width of your tractor is probably 67" with industrial tires, so 72" is a good width if you have industrial tires.

Tarter's 72" Box Blade weights 445 pounds or 74 pounds per foot. Box Blades rely primarily on weight for cutting.

A Box Blade with a weight of 600 pounds to 800 pounds, in 72" width, will cut difficult soil better.

You will have to remove the Backhoe to mount a Box Blade on the Three Point Hitch.

You certainly won't have any trouble pulling a 6' box blade. The TSC implements I've looked at seem to be of fine quality. Congrats on the new to you tractor!

My concern is the box wont be heavy enough at 500#. Wondering if I should go bigger since I am running a 47hp tractor?

And thank you, I am very excited to get going. Ive got 5 blank acres I need to make into my home. It will be fun putting up the fence, planting trees, digging a pond, building the house and shop, etc. Cant wait.

The key metric is POUNDS PER FOOT, not total weight.

If you have any concern that your dirt is too tough, buy a heavier 66"/72" Box Blade, not a wider Box Blade.

Shop Box Blades at tractor dealers in addition to TSC.

Everytfhingattachments.com offers strong, heavy Box Blades, but you are in very southern California, a long distance from North Carolina.

Woods, a national brand in implements, is particularly well regarded for Box Blades. Woods should be sold in Temecula.

I pull a Bush Hog (brand) 60" wide Rollover Box Blade weighing 630 pounds = 126 pounds per foot.
My soil is typical of Florida: sandy-loam.

Land Pride implements are made in Kansas, closer to you than most other implement producers.

Land Pride implements are sold by all Kubota dealers.

I can't comment on the box blade, but I have had a TSC auger for about 13 years. It has worked great. Takes a few holes to get it to go where you want it. It is rocky here in New England and rocks will move it around. I have put in about 200 posts with it, the digging teeth have seen better days. I should replace them. Got to love rocks. The only problem I have, and it's a minor one, had is the cover for the PTO shaft. The cover on mine was yellow, now sun bleached white. It is cracking and breaking. My brush hog has a black cover and looks brand new still. Good luck.

Until 3-4 years ago, King Kutter supplied TSC's Countyline implements. Now, Countyline is supplied by Tarter of Kentucky. Your auger is unlikely to be the one offered today, but I do not infer Tarter's would necessarily be inferior.
