Does any one have the implement limitations for rotary cutters on this model? I can't seem to find it in the online manual?
We are seriously considering this model, but have not decided which 6' medium duty RC to get (Bush Hog, Rhino, JD MX6, Mohawk Bronco) Any personal opinions on the RC are also appreciated.:D

I can tell you this, I have a 5' John Deere and my 4320 doesn't even bog when I go through 9' foot high cat tails so the limit is somewhere way above a 5'er. Hope it helps

I have a 4610 with an MX-6 rotary cutter. My tractor has 44 HP, but with the eHydro transmission has only 33.5 HP at the PTO. The minimum PTO HP required for an MX-6 is 30 HP. I have found my setup to be only adequate. On steep hills with thick grass the tractor can slow to a crawl.

Your 4320 has 40 HP at the PTO and more torque (102 ft-lb to my 79), too, so I think your tractor could pull an MX-6 just fine.

I have a 3720 cab tractor and use a 5' Woods BB60 rotary cutter with no sweat. I would highly recommend a 6' Woods Brush Bull with PTO clutch for your tractor. Heavily built, smooth running and relatively quiet compared to others I've had. Good luck....

I have a 4720 and and MX-6, the tractor has plenty of power for it or even my 1600lb Brown tree cutter. I would not buy the MX-6 again, I have replaced 2 tail wheels assembles and broke a blade 6' from the bolt. Get a Wood Brush Bull 720 or any other 1100lb 6 ft mower.

Turkeyman, How did the tailwheel assy break? This is the 1st I've heard of this. Did the boom break? I know on my lightweight LX5, it puts things in a big bind if I go down a tight ravine or bar ditch and go up the other side. It puts the tractor and mower in a "V". There is an elongated slot at the top hitch to take up much of crunch in situations like this.

I bent the "y" that wraps around the wheel, once at the top and 2nd time at the lower forks. It has no laterial stabilty like my Wood's Brush Bull has. I also started with 4 chain guards and only the front right is still on in 400 hours and not all of that is mowing. If you stand on the deck it flexes- the Woods does not. All this for a mower that is rated at 2 1/8". I also spend 50% of my time running backwards in dangerous mowing.

Just speculating, but I bet that accounts for the tail wheel fork breaking. Going backward, it's a "head wheel" (?) rather than a tail wheel. If it catches on anything as you're continuing to go in reverse, it's a bit like stubbing it's toe, and eventually, something's gonna give. If the bulk of your mowing is in reverse, you might want to set the tail wheel higher, so it's actually floating as you back in. 'Course, that puts all the support of the cutter on the 3PH.

This is a total thought-piece, but what if you fabbed a couple of "outrigger" wheels, akin to a tailwheel, but mounted them outboard on either side of the cutter, about halfway back? Then decommission the existing tailwheel. That would take some weight off the 3PH, but since they wouldn't be "leading" into the area you're working, you wouldn't be likely to "stub" them. Or maybe just a two-tail-wheel setup, akin to a finish mower, would be in order.

I've been gone for a couple of days and I'm just getting caught up on all of the replies.
Thanks to all on this post and others as we continue to learn what we need. I'm going to find out about the Woods RC... it has not been mentioned by any of the dealers here in Central Texas?

Sounds like we'll have no problem with 1100lbs behind the 4320!!:)

Regards to all
mike..
