I was wondering what the biggest disc I could run on this tractor is. I'm currently using a 10 foot wide and even with it set at the maximum angle the tractor doesn't even breathe hard running along in 4th gear on the middle range.
I saw one set up for a class 2 3 point like I have at a dealer that is 14 foot wide with hydraulic angle adjust. It's a lot heavier than my wheeled disc but under the weight the hitch is rated at. Does anyone think that 14 foot would be too wide?
Also I'm considering a new mower conditioner. It's a new holland 13 foot wide one that says 95 PTO HP minimum. I think this tractor was 80 on the PTO. The smaller mower is nice and requires 80 but I'd lose 3 foot of capacity? Since my hay fields are all mowed once a month and don't ever get out of control would the wider model drag that hard on it? I already have used a bigger Geihl mower and the tractor sure didn't mind but maybe something is different about the new hollands. I have no idea what the mower I just used required HP wise.
