Hi, all-

I want to get an auger for my BX23.

The dealer is recommending a Gearmore over the Kubota as it is $300 cheaper. But, I think he said the Kubota was a heavier duty implement.

In general, what do you do? Go with the orange? Or aftermarket?

Gearmore is fine, especially for an auger. The thing that breaks on PHD is the shear pin, and it will do it a lot. Have extra bolts (shear pin) on hand. Auger at slow speeds and speed it up when done drilling to fling the dirt. A better auger bit will have better teeth for drilling in tougher ground. Hard pan can be almost impossible without some kind of power down and sharp teeth.
