Last week my new tiller arrived via 18 wheeler - was supposed to get lift gate service with a call a day or two ahead of delivery so I could plan to be home. Well, plans are made to be broken I guess. Glad I was there!
I had no idea if this would work but the truck driver was willing to give me a hand rather than send it back to the terminal and ding me for a second delivery charge. I got out the 4110 and looked frantically thru my manuals to find the lift capacity of the loader - no luck. The tiller weighed in at 540lbs - and it was a good 4ft off the ground. So, we wrapped some chains around it and gave it a shot, figured if there was ANY squirrelly movement I'd set it back down on the trailer & bite the bullet on the lift gate. Well, it lifted like butter. Not a moan or groan and all wheels solidly on the ground. This is the pic just before I tucked it into the back of the barn to hide it from the bride.
The snow is gone now but torrential rain today, the ground won't be dry enough to till for a few weeks.
