Rear Finish Mower Impulse buy on a finish mower

I am expanding the number of acres that I have to mow and I was thinking it was about time to look for a finish mower. Then this guy popped up on craigslist today and I couldn't help myself. I don't have a lot for pricing to compare to but it seemed like a good deal. Land Pride FDR 3590 90" finish mower. I think it will be just the right size for my acreage (probably about 2 acres to mow now, but eventually could do the pasture which would add another 10 or so and an orchard for another 2-3).

The seller said he had 6 hours on it and didn't like how it fit his big tractor (NH TL90). Look to me like it could have more than 6 hours based on the blades, but not much. Had him fire it up and it sounded smooth and cut well. Should work well behind my 4610.

Picked it up for $950 about 15 min from where I work. Big upgrade from my 22" push mower

Great price. You'll be amazed how little time it will take you to mow. Post your impressions after using it please. I went with a 6-footer the last time I bought because our yard has some places I was afraid of scalping with a wider deck.

We pull a 7' finish mower with our L4610 HSTC and it never seems to load, if just mowing the lawn.
I am not sure the 4610 might handle a bat wing OK, on a lawn.

You did get a great deal. I just bought a used 54" version of it for $600, so $950 for a 90" is a great price. Enjoy.

First time out cutting today. Cut like a dream. Made our 2 hour push mowing job turn into about 10 min plus a little trim yet. The 4610 didn't seem to even notice it back there, especially compared to the 7 foot bush hog I run in the thick stuff. The only problem with the mower is it has me dreaming of expanding the lawn to a few more acres

I sold a used '08 FDR 1660 60" a couple of months ago for $1200. I would say you did alright.
