IN. pounds into FT. pounds

I need to tourque my cam caps to 12 FT. pounds . Problem- half in. drive wrench wont go that low. I have a IN .pounds torque wrench also . My question is does 120 inch pounds = 12 foot pounds? Or am I way off kilter?

That's the way I understand it.

1 foot lb. =12"lbs........12"lbs=1 foot lb.

So 12x12=144" lbs.

or say you wanted to convert 200"lbs to ft. lbs.

200/12=16.7ft.' lbs.

To convert Foot-Pounds to Inch-Pounds. Multiply by 12.
12 Foot-Pounds = 144 Inch-pounds.

12x12=144" lbs. I dont no wear i got the 120 from . So 144" lbs. is 12 ' lbs. thank you sir.

I have to agree I don't know what I was thinking when I agreed with you. Didn't notice the 120 figure
