Another thing I'm pondering is will getting one of these babies with a 60 inch mower will be a decent single solution vs having a zero turn for my 5 acres

I think that it is a good single solution. It would be ideal to have both if money was not an option or you don't mind maintaining two machines.

A tractor will never mow as fast as a zero turn. Zero turns are twice as fast time wise, even if they are not twice as fast speed wise. I mowed with a tractor at 5.5 mph, and my 4 acres took 4 hours. Bought a zero turn which mowed at 7 mph, and finished the 4 acres in 2 hours. You will have to maintain 2 machines, but zero turns are much less complex than tractors.

I have a SCUT and a Z turn. Luxury but practical as well. I couldn't do what I wanted to do with a belly mount mower along for the ride. Yeah, you can drop it for other work but during mowing season you won't want the hassle. Cut quality is something too. Bigger property without tight turns can change the equation I suppose.

To me for mowing, fast speed isn't always better. I am not talking about obstructions, I am talking about rough ground. Most of the places I mow with my BX2230 I would not want to have a faster ground speed. I don't need to feel like I have been in a drink shaker for two hours. Just my experiences.

To accomplish quicker mowing times, my 60" mower was an hour faster than dad's 54" mower, same property. Jon

Ok so I also read that they are about to introduce the new models? Should I wait for the new model? I am so new to all this!

Assuming it isn't a financial matter, waiting around for the next model in my mind rarely makes sense unless there is a feature coming that you really want or a known issue with the current model.

If you are interested in saving a few bucks, go for the 2370 over the 2670. I don't know one reason you would need 26hp vs 23hp. The 2370 will do 99.5% of what the 2670 will do. Just my opinion.

And from a fellow WV guy. Call around out of state. I drove a little over an hour to Ohio to buy mine this spring. I drove past 2 other dealers on the way. Saved over $1000. It was worth the drive. Think I ended up paying somewhere around $13,200 for my 2370 with 54" MMM and loader. There were rebates and incentives going on at the time though. That will give you a good starting point. Local dealers started around $14,700. Hope that helps.

I ended up with a 2370 from Antietam Tractor. They treated me real well
