I currently own a B6100 that I love but Im in need of a bigger machine ( the 6100 isnt going anywhere )

I need something with a FEL and the capability of adding a backhoe attachment, Im not in the market for a 30000 dollar machine, Id like something along the same vintage as my 6100 so mid eightiesish would be nice ( but not a must )

Its simple to repair.

Need 4WD

What should I be looking for and what are the chances?

Thanks

Chances are good...if you dont need it in the next 6-12 months. Put the feelers out in the used market. Craigslist, local paper/classifieds, Tractorhouse, local dealers. Talk to your friends and let them know you are looking.

The backhoe makes it a bit tougher, my suggestion is to just get one that is subframe mounted and not 3PT.

No rush at all but I need an idea of what models were or have been avail that meet the criteria to do the search

I know Ill have to add the backhoe later and yes subframe mounted is a must, thanks

I think you are looking in a used market (with a very small hoe) with a wallet that will require 50%-75% more cash.
For anything at your "eightish" price, you will likely be limited to a true run out antique POS needing a lot of difficult to find replacement parts/repairs.

B6100 weighs 1,000 pounds bare tractor.

The fundamental importance of TRACTOR WEIGHT eludes many tractor shoppers. Bare tractor weight is a tractor specification easily found in sales brochures and web sites, readily comparable across tractor brands and tractor models, new and used.

You probably want your next tractor to weigh a minimum of 2,000 pounds bare tractor. For moving dirt you need weight in the form of thicker steel for strength, weight for stability of the machine.

2,000 pounds bare tractor weight takes you into the Kubota standard L series, solid landscaping machines.

I think he needs to spend some time browsing the used tractor market. Over here that means Craigslist. Loaded tires on the larger b series would be well over 2000 lbs. Big enough for scooping gravel and dirt. Maybe I should include sand.

I imagine there are many dealers in Florida. Maybe someone has a deal. I suggest HST. But look around before you jump in.
