In you opinion. Best type lift for dump trailer

I am in the market for a 12 or 14 foot dump trailer. It will be used for hauling brush, mulch, maybe some rock, and a few roofing jobs.

In your opinion, what type lift do you suggest?

The closest dealers to me have PJ, Big Tex, Lamar, Load Trail, Iron Bull, Corn Pro.

Also, what brand?

I would look for 10 gauge floor and sides, scissor lift with 5 inch cylinder. Almost all have LED lights, radial tires, built in charger system, etc. Most in the 12 to 14 ft. range will weigh anywhere from 3000 lbs to 3500 lbs. Of the ones you mentioned between PJ, Lamar and Load Trail the Load Trial seems to be the best built. If you have a MaxxD dealer (made in Texas) in the vicinity take a look at them. Very similar to Load Trail as far as build. On some the tarp is optional (about $300) but Lamar, Load Trail and MaxxD the tarp is included.

The Lamar dump trailers have 7 ga deck
10 ga side with a triangular rail thats more stout.
I've got one on order, should be here before Xmas.

I tthink they aregoing to weigh more like 4000 to 4500 pounds empty

The PJ 6x12 weight is 3020 lbs, Load Trail 6x12 weighs 3080 lbs., Lamar 77"x12 weighs 3100 lbs, Moritz 7x12 weighs 3580 lbs and MaxxD 6x12 weighs 3500 lbs.

Agree, I have owned 4 dump trailers, first 3 were scissor type, the current one is a Cam, it has twin 2 stage cylinders, it is by far the strongest lift, I have never had it not dump. I will definitely be buying another Cam, we run them about 4 or 5 years, sell and buy new.
